Living Unitarian Universalist Principles in the Public Square

Congregational Voices

“Omega is a joy, an inspiration, and was the easiest intern that I have ever worked with. Her infectious warmth, well thought out services, and sense of humor allowed her to make a deep connection with our congregation. She balanced what we wanted with what we needed, and helped to push us into the future in a gentle, but resolute way by exposing us to new ideas, sources of inspiration and heaps of poetry. Any congregation would be lucky to have her with them!”

—Abby Sommer, Ministerial Intern Committee Chair, Olympia Brown Unitarian Church, Racine, Wisconsin

I believe that it is my role to educate and serve through prophetic witness. Connection, lifelong learning, and relationship-building are parts of my vocational calling to Unitarian Universalist ministry. I am active in interfaith communities that engage in anti-oppression work as we partner to create the Beloved Community.

Reproductive Justice

I support and advocate for the rights of all people to equal and just healthcare, including the rights to access safe abortions. I attended this march in the summer of 2022 in San Diego.

Black Lives Matter

During the summer of 2020, I engaged in demonstrations along with other UU and interfaith clergy in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and Kenosha, Wisconsin. Long active in justice works in Lawrence, Kansas and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I was able to engage with local groups (clergy and lay-lead) in working towards a world without oppression for the People of Color and Black Americans in our communities.

Immigration Reform

I support immigration reform and the immediate cessation of human rights abuses at our borders. In May of 2022, I participated with interfaith clergy in support of local organizations in calling for the closure of for-profit detention centers along the Mexico-California border.
